Criminal investigation launched into more than 200 million rubles theft from federal budget in Dagestan Republic

The North Caucasus Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of has launched a criminal investigation into a crime under part 4 of the article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (fraud), after more than 200 million rubles was stolen from budget funds.to .

According to investigators, in the period between 2010 and 2011 more than 200 million rubles was allocated from the federal budget to the employment centers of Magaramkent, Suleyman-Stal and Tabasaran districts of Dagestan to be spent on labor market development in Republic. However, unidentified persons, who were acting deliberately and out of mercenary motives, used forged accounting documents, justifying payments to citizens under target-specific programs, stole the money and, by doing that, caused damage to the budget of the Russian Federation.

Today the investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee together with the officers of the Office of the Federal Security Service have conducted searches in administration buildings of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Dagestan, the Federal Treasury Department of Dagestan, as well as in the employment centers of Magaramkent, Suleyman-Stal and Tabasaran districts of Dagestan. During the searches the investigators confiscated documents vital for the investigation.

At the moment the investigative operations are underway, to find out all the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the crime.
