Suspect of series of children sexual abuses detained in Moscow

A 50-year-old suspect of at least 5 sex crimes committed against girls aged between 12 and 15 in Lipetsk, Smolensk and other regions has been identified and detained thanks to highly professional actions of investigators and criminalists of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.

The suspect was detained as a result of joint efforts of investigators, criminalists of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and officers of the Main Crime Detection Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, who had run complex analyses of the data on possible involvement of a number of individuals to the said crimes.

During the search, the investigators found objects confirming the suspect’s involvement. According to the results of a DNA test run by criminalists of the Main Forensic Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee the biological traces found at the crime scene belong to the suspect.

By apprehending the suspect the investigators and police officers prevented a possible series of similar crimes. Investigative operations are underway to gather and consolidate the evidence. Restrain is expected soon.
