Criminal investigation launched in negligence of Tambov administration officials reported by mass media

Following reports in mass media Tambov Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in crimes under part 1 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence), article 315 (failure to follow a court decision).

According to investigators, on 6 February 2015, one of TV channels showed a story about a 10-year-old boy suffering from primary immunodeficiency. It was told that the boy’s mother had repeatedly appealed to Tambov town administration requesting to provide her with a flat, as the flat the woman and her son lived in was unfit for living according to an independent expert examination. However, representatives of the town administration had refused all her requests.

In addition, in December 2014, a court bound the town administration to provide the woman and her serious ill son with a flat out-of-order.

At present investigative and search operations are underway to identify officials and find out circumstances of the incident. Following the probe investigators are going to give toughest legal assessment to actions of all the officials.
