In Bashkortostan investigation opened following media reports telling about six-year-old died of scolds

The Bashkortostan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide due to improper discharge of professional duty). The case is based on the information found during monitoring of the media telling that a 6-year-old girl died of scolds.

The report published in Internet reads that the girl died on 17 May 2015, in hospital No 18 in the city of Ufa, presumably of scolding 60% of her skin. According to preliminary data, the girl died trying to save her small brother from a tipped-over bowl of boiling water. The girl’s mother claims that the doctors of Karmaskaly district hospital failed to administer full first medial aid to her daughter.

At present investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and identify a person or people responsible for it. A number of forensic enquiries have been assigned to find out the cause of the child’s death. During the probe the investigators are going to qualify actions of medical personnel and parents who left small children unattended. The investigation is controlled by the senior officials of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.
