The Altai Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched an investigation against Head of Barnaul administration Igor Savintsev. He is suspected of a crime under part 2 of article 285 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of authority).

According to investigators, between November 2010 and June 2011, Igor Savintsev violated the law and signed a resolution selling lands owned by Barnaul municipality at a lower price to two companies affiliated by his relatives. This action caused Barnaul damage of over 11 million rubles.

At present searches are underway in the administration of Barnaul, investigators are looking in all circumstances of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
