In Moscow member of extremist organization Right Sector accused of mercenary activities to face trial

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has completed to investigate the criminal case against a Russian citizen Alexander Razumov. He is accused of committing crimes under part 1 of article 282 of the RF Criminal Code (incitement to hatred or hostility, and humiliation of human dignity) and part 1 of article 359 of the RF Criminal Code (mercenary activities).

According to investigators, from March to May 2014, Razumov, driven by the ideas of Nazism, went to Ukraine, where he underwent military and ideological training in the ranks of the banned in the territory of the Russian Federation extremist organization Right Sector, after which he returned to Russia, where he recruited people for the said extremist organization.

Thus, on August 29, 2014, Razumov, while being in Zelenograd and acting by prior conspiracy with persons belonging to the Right Sector leadership, met with two of his acquaintances, police officers having the necessary fighting skills. During a dialogue, Razumov recruited the police officers for Right Sector for participation as mercenaries in armed conflicts in the south-east of Ukraine.

In addition, Razumov was posting information aimed at inciting hatred and hostility, and humiliation of a group of persons on the grounds of nationality on his page in the social network "Vkontakte".

Obviously, the defendant overestimated his ability to convince and underestimated the moral qualities of our police officers, naively believing that they may agree to wage war against the civilian population, and even more so under the banner of Right Sector. By the way, I must be noted that Razumov has never been in the army as partially able-bodied, but nevertheless he joined the Ukrainian nationalist organization. One can only imagine what the soldiers it consists of, if they easily admit volunteers rejected in Russia. As for the ideas Razumov hid himself behind, are doubtful, too, because during the agitation among the police officers, he first promised a good financial reward. Therefore, betrayal, under whatever slogans it is committed, remains betrayal, and betrayers will be prosecuted in accordance with Russian laws.

Investigators collected sufficient evidence, and, in connection with this, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.
