Buryat investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are continuing to investigate the criminal case of the murder of a 5-year-old girl whose body was found on June 7, 2015 in an abandoned water tower in the territory of the gardeners association "Voskhod".

During the investigation, more than a hundred witnesses have been interrogated, dozens of studies and examinations have been conducted. Biological traces of a man were found in the girl's body. After that, it was decided to undertake a comparative study of the genetic code of all the locals, for which purpose samples were taken from more than 1,500 citizens, they were sent for a genotype examination to the neighboring region. Both investigators and experts worked almost day and night and  finally found a genomic coincidence. Based on these data, a 32-year-old local resident was detained on suspicion of committing the crime.

Interrogation of the men was organized and conducted by the investigator in a professional manner with the presentation of evidence to the suspect, and under their weight he pleaded guilty and gave detailed testimony about the circumstances of the crime. His testimonywas verified at the crime scene, as well as with the use of the polygraph, and were objectively confirmed. Based on the evidence gathered by Buryat investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the man has been pre-charged with a crime under paragraphs. "c, j" of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder of a minor involving rape and sexual assault, as well as committed to hide another crime). These charges will later be expanded and supplemented with new components.

According to investigators, the accused lived with his cohabitant and children in the territory of the gardeners association "Voskhod" in Zaigrayevo District, Republic of Buryatia. During the three days before the crime, he drank alcohol. On the evening of June 6, 2015, being drunk, he met an unfamiliar girl on the street and decided to rape her. None of the adults was nearby. The man invited the child to go with him, and the girl agreed to go with a stranger. The man brought the child to an abandoned water tower on the bank of the Uda River, where beat her and then raped and committed sexual assault. The girl lost consciousness due to a pain shock. Fearing exposure, the accused murdered the child. Then, after throwing garbage obove the girl's body, he fled the scene.

The person involved in the commission of the particularly gravecrime has been established through high professionalism and well-coordinated work of the investigation group, which included the most experienced investigators of the Buryat Republic Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee and Buryat criminal investigators of the  Interior Ministry. Practical assistance has also been provided by investigators of the Main Forensics Department of the Investigative Committee and officers of the Interir Ministry.
