In Krasnoyarsk Territory criminal investigation launched in unsafe services killing 11 people

The Krasnoyarsk Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (provision of services that do not meet life and health safety standards) following a two-bus traffic accident in Balakhta District.

According to investigators, on 8 July 2015, at about 6 PM, unidentified people of OOO Avtokolonna 1967-Vostok while providing paid transportation services failed to ensure that they met life and health safety standards and let a Hyundai bus set off from the city of Kyzyl, Tuva Republic for Krasnoyarsk. On 9 July at 5 AM, for no apparent reasons the said bus took the wrong side of the road and collided with a Mercedes Bens minibus killing its 10 passengers and the driver. The Hyundai bus with at least 24 people inside turned over injuring 7 people, including three children aged under 6.

At present the investigators are looking at the reasons and conditions that contributed to the crime. The investigators together with police officers have examined the scene. In addition, they are going to give evaluation to the actions (omission) of the people in charge of transportation security. The investigation is ongoing.
