Searches carried out in Moscow and Saint Petersburg during investigation against former officials of abolished Northwestern Federal District Main Office of Interior Ministry

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigation against former officials of the abolished Northwestern Federal District Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior over staling more than 19.1 million rubles from the federal budget by embezzlement and misappropriation disguised as paying bonuses of between 340 and 700 thousand rubles to each of the former employees committed between 5 and 14 May 2014 (part 4 of article 160 of the RF Penal Code).

At present, in addition to former chief of the said office Vitaly Bykov, the charges have been pressed against former head of finance and economic department Sbetlana Shatova, head of sypply center Ivan Lozyuk and deputy head of personnel conspiracy and state service Irina Burkhanova. Bykov and lozyuk were remanded in custody, Shatova is under house arrest and Burkhanova was released on recognizance.

Today, the investigators together with officials of the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of the Interior have searched residences of former colleagues of the accused in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.

Real estates, vehicles and bank accounts were arrested to compensate for the damage.
