Russia’s Investigative Committee Chairman pays working visit to Azerbaijan

Today Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin paid a working visit to Azerbaijan. During planned events a cooperation agreement was signed between the Russia’s Investigative Committee and Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office. The signing of such an agreement will contribute to development of cooperation with law-enforcement authorities of Azerbaijan and will help to bring cooperation between the two agencies to the new level of strategic partnership.

During the visit the Russian delegation visited the Main Anti-Corruption Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office, which is an independent division dealing with corruption and possessing a wide range of authority, including investigative and search operations.

Mr. Bastrykin paid respects to National Hero Geydar Aliyev by laying a wreath on his grave.

The Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee noted a high level of bilateral interaction in the area of security and order and thanked Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov for warm and cordial welcome.

The participants of the meeting acknowledged the dialogue useful and confirmed their readiness to strengthen and expand the mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of criminal justice.
