Case against one of accused of embezzlement in Primorye Aquarium case sent to court

The Major Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigation against CEO of OOO scientific production association NPO Mostovik Oleg Shishov charged with a crime under part 5 of article 33, part 4 of article 160 (complicity in embezzling of entrusted property).

According to investigators, Poplavsky with complicity of Shishov embezzled over 1 billion rubles allocated to build Primorye Aquarium in Vladivostok. The said money was transferred to the account of OOO NPO Mostovi opened in the city of Omsk. Besides, Poplavsky got a commercial bribe from Shishov of over 119 million rubles for accepting the work carried out by the general contractor, payment for it and further financing of construction. Due to the fact that Shishov reported the commercial bribery to the police and actively assisted to the investigation, the criminal case opened against him over this crime was closed.

Shishov made a cooperation deal. During the investigation the accused gave detailed testimony against himself and against Poplavsky. However, Poplavsky did not confess to the crime and denied that he had received any money from Shishov.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case against Shishov with the approved indictment has been sent to Kuybyshev District Court of Omsk to be tried on the merits.

At the same time, Poplavsky and CEO of Kosandra Alexander Kosyachenko are reading the case files.
