Official of Moscow Main Office of Interior Ministry and Deputy of municipal district charged with grand bribery detained in Moscow

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a case against operative of the Moscow Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior Aleksey Kurdyukov and Deputy of the Council of Deputies of one of municipal districts of the capital Eduard Aslanyan. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with crimes under part 1 of article 30, part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (preparing for bribery by an official on a grand scale) and part 4 of article 291.1 (intermediacy in bribery on a grand scale).

According to investigators, no later than in October 2015, Aslanyan got from Kurdyukov the information that the latter was going to check an official of one of city’s boards. After that the said persons conspired to get a bribe of no less than 15 million rubles for stopping the check against the official. During many personal meetings with the official, Aslanyan acted as a middleman and demanded monety to get bribes to the police officer.

During investigative and search operations Aslanyan was held by law-enforcement officials at yet another meeting held on 10 November 2015, in the office of a company, while receiving 230 thousand US dollars.

At the present time, restraint is under discussion. The investigation is ongoing.
