The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia visited the Hospital for War Veterans No. 2 in Moscow

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, visited the Hospital for War Veterans No. 2 in Moscow. The event was attended by Hero of Russia Sergey Vasilievich Petrov, Head of the Directorate for educational work, Officers of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee, Ms. Vera Rostislavovna Shastina, Chief Medical Officer of the Moscow State Budgetary Health Institution "Hospital for War Veterans No. 2 of the Moscow Health Department", medical workers of the hospital, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as students and cadets of the capital's educational institutions of the Russian Investigative Committee.

As part of the event, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the memorial to the doctors who died for the Motherland. Honoring their memory, Mr. A.I. Bastrykin recalled the unfading deeds of these people who gave their lives in the performance of their professional duty.

The Head of the Department expressed his gratitude to the doctors of the hospital for their difficult and incredibly responsible work, emphasizing the significant input of medical representatives in the current conditions of the special military operation. "Our goal is to investigate the atrocities of the new fascists, bring them to justice, make them answer for what they are doing today against the civilian population, the elderly, women and children," he added.

Addressing the assembled veterans, Mr. A.I. Bastrykin stressed that "it's not about years, but about the way a person lives its life today ...". The Head of the Department wished everybody who was present, including participants in the Great Patriotic War and rear servicemen, health, vivacity, optimism and long life. Particularly warm words of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee were addressed to women who made an invaluable contribution to the victory over the enemy and the restoration of destroyed cities in the post-war years.

During the event, Departmental medals were awarded to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and medical workers of the Hospital for War Veterans No. 2.

Then a concert was held for the guests, where classical music was played, as well as Russian folk songs performed by invited artists and students of Departmental Educational Organizations.

In the final part of the event, Ms. Vera Rostislavovna Shastina warmly thanked the guests, noting the importance of the support provided and sincere participation for the wards of the hospital in need of restoring health and raising morale.

At the end of the official part, the Head of the Russian Investigative Committee had an informal conversation with the patients of the medical institution, expressing readiness to provide them with assistance in social and legal issues.
