Investigative Committee Chairman orders discussing reduction of restraint to suspect in Chelyabinsk Region

For the period of investigation into the murder of four people in Chelyabinsk Region, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin ordered the head of the Chelyabinsk Investigations Directorate to see if it was possible to change the restraint for the suspect to more lenient one, for example, house arrest. The suspect has been arrested following the request made by investigators.

During the investigation opened against the resident of the village of Miasskoye, Krasnoarmeysky District, Chelyabinsk Region, suspected of a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of two or more people) the investigators are going to find out all the details of the crime, events that had happened before it, motives and intentions of each of the parties to a conflict. Necessary investigative operations are underway and forensic tests have been assigned to find the truth. The final charges will be pressed only after full and impartial investigation.

It was reported, that at night of 1 January, four men and a woman came to a house of the man they hardly knew in the village of Miasskoye. After a quarrel which had grown into a fight, the owner of the house shot to death three men and the woman from a hunting rifle, another man is in hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm.

The investigation is ongoing.
