Following initiative of Sverdlovsk Region authorities of Investigative Committee files of check into illegal actions of employees of micro-finance and collector organizations passed on to Investigative Committee

On 26 February 2016, one of Yekaterinburg television companies showed a story telling about illegal actions of employees of some micro-finance and collector organizations. The police checked into the fact. Namely, the media report said that the employees of a collector agency came up to the door of a flat in Narodnoi Voli Street in Yekaterinburg and threatened a 12 year-old boy to kill him and burn his house. They poured some glue into the lock and blocked the child inside.

Considering the importance to protect the rights of minors, the necessity to find out all the details of the incident and to give impartial legal qualification to the actions of the employees of the micro-finance organization and the collector agency, the Sverdlovsk Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee have requested the prosecutor’s office to seize the files of the check from the police authority and pass them on to the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee for further check. At present, the files of the check have already been passed on from the police to the Investigative Committee’s directorate.

During the check an investigator of the regional directorate is going to find out all the details of the incident, check not only the threats said to the child and damage done to the flat, but the fact of the situation dangerous for the child when he got blocked inside the flat, deprived of phone communication which posed a risk to the child’s health and life.

It should be noted that the Investigative Committee is going to continue giving the toughest legal evaluation to any illegal actions committed against children.
