Investigative Committee checks media reports about boy attacked by predator from mobile zoo in Vladimir Region

On 7 March 2016, some mass media posted reports and a video showing how a small boy was attacked by a predator from a mobile zoo. The Vladimir Region authorities of the Investigative Committee are checking if it was consistent with a crime under Part 1 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (rendering unsafe services).

According to preliminary information, on the afternoon 6 March 2016, a zoo worker took a predator for a walk in Dobroselsky Park located outside the area occupied by the zoo. The animal was walking on a ling leash not meeting any basic safety requirements. The zoo worker saw that there were some small children with their parents on the playground, but still plaid with the animal. At some point, she lost control over it and the animal attacked a small boy.

At present, investigators of the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee are working at the scene carrying out operations necessary to find out all the details of the incident. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
