Committee’s investigators to carry out shortly all the required procedures with Pyotr Pinchuk extradited from Republic of Greece

The Seventh Investigative Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee in the city of Rostov-on-Don is continuing the investigation on signs of crimes under Provisions “a, e, jh, z” of Part 2 of Article 105, Article 222 of the RF Penal Code into the fact of murder of two businessmen and attempted murder of three local citizens of the Krasnodar Region and illegal obtaining, bearing and keeping of weapons.

During the probe, involvement of Denis Murdalov, Temur Matua and Pyotr Pinchuk has been established. According to investigators, on 26 October 2010 Mr.Pinchuk acting from mercenary motives with the mentioned persons murdered a businessman and attempted murders of three other men who found themselves at the crime scene in the city of Sochi. In March 2012, Mr.Pinchuk, Mr.Murdalov and Mr.Matua committed a murder of another businessman out of personal enmity.

On 23 October 2012 Mr.Pinchuk was put on a wanted list. Later in his absence a ruling on indictment on committing crimes under Provisions “a, e, jh, z” of Part 2 of Article 105, Part 1 and Part 3 of Article 222 of the RF Penal Code (murder, trafficking firearms) and a restraint in the form of arrest was imposed also in his absence.

The criminal case in relation to Mr.Murdalov and Mr.Matua was severed from other charges. The probe has been finished and sent for the indictment to be approved.

As a result of investigative activities, Mr.Pinchuk’s location was identified, as he had left the Russian Federation and fled to the Republic of Greece. There he was held in a custody and put under pre-extradition arrest. According to Article 461 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code, investigators prepared and forwarded request to the Republic of Greece officials to extradite Mr. Pinchuk.

At the moment, Mr.Pinchuk has been escorted to the Russian Federation. The investigators are shortly going to carry out all the required procedures.
