Third meeting of the council of Investigative Committee’s senior officials takes place

The Third meeting of the Council of Investigative Committee’s senior officials under the Chairman of the Investigative Committee has taken place today. It was attended by members of the council and a number of heads of divisions of the Investigative Committee’s central office.

The key point on the agenda was personnel of the Investigative Committee.

Opening the meeting, Mr. Bastrykin said: “The Investigative Committee has become an independent and professional agency capable of handling all the tasks set for it by the country’s leadership. We are solving those tasks thanks to our staff. However, we cannot deny that there are some problems in this area such as personnel turnover, building a staff reserve and in some cases too much work for investigators to do, inefficient use of staff potential when sending investigators from regions to be included in investigative teams, the issues of professional training level as well as training of moral and professional qualities in young and future investigators, their adjustment in teams and some social problems.”

Mr. Bastrykin also heard reports of heads of Investigative Committee’s offices for Leningrad, Volgograd, Saratov, Kirov Regions and Kabardino-Balkaria suggesting solutions for pressing staff-related problems.

Suggestions for optimization of the Investigative Committee’s personnel policy were worked out.
