The Voronezh Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (provision of services that do not meet safety standards).

According to investigators, on the morning of 17 February 2016, a 7-year-old girl was playing on the playground of Daycare Center No 142 located in Levoberezhny District in the city of Voronezh. While not being attended to by anybody she fell and injured herself. At a hospital she was diagnosed with a compression fracture of 3-5^th thoracic vertebrae. According to an expert, the said injury amounts to grievous bodily harm.

The inspection files got to the regional investigative authorities in October 2016.

The investigators have run necessary forensic inquiries, questioned parents of the children and the staff of the facility. Investigative operations are continued to find out all the circumstances of the crime and to document the evidence, as well as to find the reason and conditions that made the crime possible. The investigators are going to give legal assessment to the actions of the facility’s staff. The investigation is ongoing.
