Due to multiple appeals and considering wide public reaction, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered a respective division at the Committee’s Central Office to run a check into criminal proceedings initiated against Yevgenia Chudnovets living in Kurgan Region.

A court has recently sentenced the woman to 6 months in prison for reposting in social networks tortures of a child in a children’s camp. She was found guilty of a crime under Article 242.1 of the RF Penal Code. The sentence has not come into legal force yet.

The Central Office is going to check how thorough and impartial the investigation was.
