The Tyumen Region office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a crime under Part 3 of Article 219 of the RF Penal Code (violation of fire safety entailing death of more than two people by negligence) following death of seven people in a fire in Yurginskoye District, Tyumen Region.

According to investigators, a fire happened in a trailer on a farm construction site on the 1^st km of the village of Novaya Derevnya, Yurginskoye District, on the night of 19 November 2016. Seven people were killed in the fire and another three are now in hospital. The source of the fire was inside the trailer next to the door, where an electric heater was. Short circuit might have been the cause of the fire.

At present the investigators are examining the scene, looking into the reasons for the incident and questioning witnesses. The investigation is under control of the senior officials of the regional investigative authority. The investigation is ongoing.
