A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Fifth Department of the Investigative Committee’s Directorate (based in the city of Novosibirsk) sufficient to convict a 68-year-old man from the city of Irkutsk. He was found guilty of more than 30 counts of crimes under Part 4, item “b” of Article 132, part 3 of Article 135, Part 2, items “a” and “c” of Article 242.2 of the RF Penal Code (sexual abuse, molestation, exploitation of minors for the production of pornography).
The court and investigators have established that the man sexually abused and molested two minors in flats, summer cottages, saunas and in the woods in the city of Irkutsk and Irkutsk Region from 2010 to 2015. In addition, he took naked pictures of them to produce pornographic materials which he stored at electronic data carriers at home.
The investigators learnt about his crimes in May 2015 from a report filed by a representative of a victimized child about one fact of attempted sexual abuse. However, other instances of the crimes he had been committing since 2010 were revealed thanks to well-planned and meticulous work of the investigators. During searches they confiscated a lot of different electronic data carriers and found proves that the suspect’s involvement in other crimes, including the ones committed against another child. More than 20 different forensic examinations were run to prove the man’s guilt, including a comprehensive forensic examination of pornographic materials.
The court has sentenced the accused to 14 years in a maximum-security correctional facility.
