In Moscow Region, probe launched into injuring child at playground

The Moscow Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation into a crime under part 1 of Article 216 of the RF Penal Code (safety breach during works involving infliction of grievous bodily harm by negligence to a minor) following bodily harm received by a child in the town of Mytishchi when a hand snow plow.

According to investigators, on 15 December 2016, about 2:30 PM, while playing on a playground near a house in the town of Mytishchi a child fell and got both of his feet inside a hand snow plow operated by a worker of Lesparkkhoz, a municipal state-funded institution, who was clearing snow from the playground. The victim’s feet were extricated from the machine and the victim was taken to the Mytishchi Town Clinical Hospital where doctors confirmed grievous bodily harm.

At present, necessary investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. The investigators are questioning the management and staff of the said institution and are going to give legal assessment to their actions (omission). In addition, confiscated documents including those regulating the snow clearing operations are being studied.
