The third department (based in the city of Nizhny Novgorod) of the Investigative Committee’s Head Office continues investigation in the murder of Yekaterina Vashurkin and attempted murder of her husband – chief of Otradny Police Department Dmitry Vashurkin by a group of people in conspiracy.
Considering all the evidence, investigators have established the role of each one of the suspects and have given legal assessment to their actions. Perpetrators of the robbery, murder and attempted murder Daniil Yeltyshev, Ernst Yatsunenko and Vitaly Yarankin have been charged with crimes under Part 2, items “g” and “j” of Article 105, Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “a”, “g” and “j” of Article 105, Part 2 of Article 162 of the RF Penal Code (murder and attempted murder of two or more people committed by a group of people to conceal another crime; robbery).
The driver Andrei Permyakov who had driven the said people to the crime scene is charged with a robbery in a group of people in conspiracy under Part 2 of Article 162 of the RF Penal Code.
Kristina Chistyakova who was not involved directly in the robbery or the murder, but helped the perpetrators to conceal the loot and objects with traces of the crime is charged with concealing a major crime under Article 316 of the RF Penal Code.
All of the accused gave testimonies about the crime. Considering their statements the investigators were able to locate all the stolen things. This way, in addition to things and crime weapons found earlier, the investigators found and confiscated Yekaterina Vashurkin’s purse and bank cards. This way, all the stolen things and money have been found.
The investigators are taking all necessary steps to conduct and efficient, all-round and impartial investigation in the shortest possible time.
