Opening the meeting Mr. Bastrykin asked representatives of the Defense Ministry to pass on his condolences to victims’ families, friends and colleagues. The death of Yelizaveta Glinka (Doctor Liza), with whom the Investigative Committee had close and trusting relationship, became an irreplaceable loss. Dozens of children from Donbass, the Investigative Committee cares for, were saved thanks to Dr. Liza. In the memory of the hero doctor, the Investigative Committee is going to continue the work started by Dr. Glinka to prevent wounding and death of children in areas of military actions. The Chairman also sent his condolences to the families and colleagues of killed journalists, one of whom – Mikhail Luzhetsky – was our colleague as well when he had worked as an investigator. The killed journalists were professionals and patriots.

During the meeting, Mr. Bastrykin heard the results of the primary investigation conducted by the team and gave explicit orders on further investigation. The meeting outlined plan of actions for the investigative team for next several days.
