The Saint Petersburg Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in provision of unsafe services under Part 1 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on the morning of 3 February 2017, a Daewoo Nexia collided with a fixed-run minibus on the crossing of Tipanov street and Kosmonavtov avenue. 9 people were taken to hospital, including 3 in grave condition.

At present, an investigative team together with traffic police inspectors are examining the accident scene, ordering forensic inquiries, including a technical one, identifying eye-witnesses of the accident. Necessary steps are being taken to find out all the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The investigators are going to check the activity of the organization servicing fixed-run taxi.

The investigation is ongoing.
