In Chelyabinsk Region, probe finished against former deputy governor charged with bribery

The Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against former deputy governor of Chelyabinsk Region Nikolai Sandakov charged with bribery under Part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, from 2013 to 2014, Sandakov got a bribe in the form of illegal free-of-charge guarding of his house and mounting security cameras worth at least 1 million 960 thousand rubles from CEO of OOO Python, a limited liability security company. For that Sandakov assisted him to sign a government contract on guarding the governor on conditions convenient for Python.

The investigators have done a lot of work. They ran 15 examinations: an accounting, evaluating, psychological and linguistic ones and others, questioned more than 40 witnesses, conducted raids and confiscated documents. The work done made it possible to conclude that the accused was involved in the crime. The operative support was provided by the agents of the regional office of the Federal Security Service.

The investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case has been forwarded for the indictment to be signed and will then be referred to court.
