Woman suspected in attack on medical assistant released on recognizance in Leningrad Region

The Leningrad Region Office of the Russian Investigative Committee continues criminal investigation in attack on a ambulance medical assistant under Article 116 (Battery, committed through ruffian-like motives).

On 22 April 2017, the ambulance arrived to an apartment, located at Vasilisy Kozhinoy Street in Moscow, where they rendered aid to a drunk 35-year-old man. The man turned aggressive against ambulance workers and started throwing furniture at them, inflicting bodily injuries to the medical staff.

Considering gravity of offence, which provides two years in prison, the 30-year-old accused has been released on recognizance. Additionally, the investigators examined the scene and questioned witnesses, as well as carried out necessary investigative operations.

The investigators have already revealed that the woman intentionally inflicted injuries to the medical assistant. Investigators are gathering necessary evidence to conclude the investigation as soon as possible. The Investigative Committee will continue responding to such attacks on doctors.
