Alexander Bastrykin orders Investigative Committee’s Head Office to take over probe into murder of businessman and his son

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered the Head Office to take over the investigation into murder of a businessman and his 7-year-old son in Orenburg Region.

An investigative team now includes experienced investigators of the Head Office and criminalists of the Investigative Committee’s Forensic Directorate.

The bodies of the 35-year-old businessman and his son with multiple stab wounds were found in a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 about 9 AM on 17 January 2018 in a yard between houses 96 and 98 in Karagandinskaya Street in Orenburg. The Orenburg Region Office of the Investigative Committee opened an investigation in murder under Part 2, items “a” and “c” of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, those involved in the crime may be moving around in a black Lada Priora or Lada Granta vehicle. It is possible that the car has tinted glasses and low suspension.

An identikit of a man who may have been involved in the murder is now available. He is 35-40 years old, Caucasian, 175-180 cm, medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket and a dark knitted cap.

At present, the investigators keep on questioning people living in the neighborhood of the crime scene and looking for eyewitnesses. The inquest continues.
