Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise the process of a pre-investigation probe launched by the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate upon information about violation of housing rights of a 93-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War and his wife.
The pre-investigation probe was initiated after a mass media report. According to media, unidentified persons had obtained by fraudulent means a two-room apartment located in Golyanovo District belonging to the veteran born in 1925.
Alexander Bastrykin ordered to give a comprehensive legal assessment of all the circumstances outlined in the publication and establish what had happened in detail. The pre-investigative probe will result in a procedural decision.
