Probe into several former officials of the Republic of Dagestan into two episodes of budget embezzlement finished

The Main Directorate on Major Crimes Investigation completed a preliminary investigation on two episodes of embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the purchase, construction and reconstruction of buildings and engineering infrastructure in the Republic of Dagestan.

In particular, the investigation into former provisional Chairman of the Dagestan Republican Government Abdusamad Gamidov and his deputy Rayudin Yusufov for embezzlement in the form of misappropriation (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Russia) in the amount of more than 40 million roubles allocated from the Republic of Dagestan budget for the reconstruction of the building to station special institutions for the temporary housing of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Makhachkala was completed.

Also, the investigation into former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan Shamil Isayev was finished. He is accused of embezzlement in the form of misappropriation of funds in the amount of more than 80 million roubles allocated from the budget of the Republic of Dagestan for the building of “Eagle’s Nest”, a camping site in Gunib District, engineering infrastructure.

Currently, the accused persons and their lawyers have begun to study the case records.

The investigation into other episodes of the criminal activity of Gamidov and others is ongoing.
