Statement of the Investigative Committee of Russia concerning false information spread by mass media

In connection to a number of mass media sources spreading new details concerning the offense committed in the Amur College of Construction and Public Utilities, the Investigative Committee reminds that reliable information on the investigative process can only come from the investigative bodies processing the probe.

The Investigative Committee warns journalists from spreading false information that may bear harm to participants of criminal proceedings, including victims, and may give a false impression of the situation to the citizens.

The Investigative Committee is intended to timely inform the society on the investigation process of this probe but only within the framework of the existing legislation and in the volume not conflicting with interests of the investigation.
