In Leningrad Region, preventive measure chosen for suspect of committing offenses in Khimozi settlement

The Leningrad Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues the investigation into the 46-year-old man suspected of committing offenses under Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 131 (rape of a victim under 14 years of age), Part 1 of Article 222, and Part 1 of Article 222.1 (illegal traffic of firearms) of the Criminal Code of Russia.

At the moment, the Leningrad Regional Investigations Directorate has launched another criminal inquiry into his sexual abusing of the 13-year-old girl under Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code of Russia.

According to investigative data, from January 2012 to September 2019, in a private house of the Khimozi settlement of Gatchinsky District of Leningrad Region, a 46-year-old man had been repeatedly subjecting to sexual violence his minor daughter born in 2006, unable to understand the meaning and nature of his actions due to her minor age.

In addition, no later than December 16, 2019, in an undisclosed location in the Russian Federation, he had also illegally acquired several firearms and ammunition, which he had transported to his place of residence and illegally stored there until they were discovered and removed during an inspection of the scene of the incident.

The investigation of this criminal case has been entrusted to the most experienced investigators of the Leningrad Regional Directorate on Major Crimes Investigation of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Today, the investigator has motioned the court to choose custody as a preventive measure for the suspect. Having heard the parties’ opinions, the court considered the arguments of the investigation to be convincing and granted the request.

The investigative actions required to define all the circumstances of the committed offenses are being taken. The investigation is ongoing.
