In Moscow, four members of Sharapovskie organized criminal group, accused of committing a number of especially grave offenses, to stand trial

The Department for Major Crimes Investigation I of the Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of a probe into Rabadan Magomedvaliev, Shamsutdin Djamalutdinov, Yusup Akhmedutdinov and Shamsutdin Mukhtarov. Depending on the role of each they are accused of committing offenses under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 209 (creation and participation in a gang), Paragraphs A, G, H of Part 2 of Article 105 (murder of two persons committed by an organized group for hire, coupled with banditry), Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraphs A, G, H of Part 2 of Article 105 (attempted murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group by hire, coupled with banditry), Part 3 of Article 222 (illegal turnover of firearms committed by an organized group), Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal turnover of explosives and explosive devices, committed by an organized group).

According to investigation, from 2006 to 2013 perpetrators, being members of Sharapovskie organized criminal group, committed a number of murders and other grave offenses in Moscow. In that Magomedvaliev acted as a customer of the crimes and directly financed the gang, Djamalutdinov organized the execution of the crimes and provided the accomplices with weapons, and Akhmedutdinov and Mukhtarov were the executors of the crimes. For example, in mid-2006, Magomedvaliev had a conflict with a co-founder of a commercial organization, expressed in the victim's refusal to increase his share of the profits from rental of retail space. He contacted the organizer of the gang in order to kill the victim for cash remuneration. On April 15, 2007, Akhmedutdinov and Mukhtarov tracked the victim, who was returning home, and Akhmedutdinov fired at least five shots at the victim near the entrance of the apartment building on Pyryeva Street in Moscow. The victim died at the scene and the attackers fled. In 2007, the accomplices committed a similar murder of a Moscow lawyer, who also had a conflict with Magomedvaliev.

The gang members carefully prepared for each crime, organized surveillance of the victims, and after the crime, got rid of the cars, communications equipment and firearms used, which allowed them to continue their criminal activity with impunity for a long time.

They were detained in the Republic of Dagestan and in Moscow from August to November 2019. Investigators, together with the operational services, during the search revealed a weapons cache and seized grenades and other ammunition. The explosive items were subsequently neutralized and destroyed.

Earlier, the court issued a guilty verdict in relation to two members of the gang, by which they were found guilty of attempted murder for hire of a businessman in the capital, with Magomedvaliev acting as a customer.

The investigation of a probe into the organizer of the gang and one of customers of the crimes is currently ongoing, they are on the international wanted list. The court is also establishing other members of the armed criminal group and other episodes of their criminal activities.

The investigation gathered enough evidence; therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to the court to be tried on the merits.
