The media widely discussed the assault and infliction of bodily injuries on a paramedic during provision of first aid, committed by a 35-year-old resident of Tomsk Oblast. The Tomsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated the transfer of the inspection materials from the bodies of inquiry of the police department to the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The Chairman of Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin demanded from the Head of the Tomsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia Shchukin A.V. to establish all the circumstances of the incident as soon as possible and if there are grounds to decide whether to initiate criminal proceedings.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation always responds immediately to such cases of inadequate and unlawful behavior against ambulance workers. In the majority of such cases, attacks not only harm the doctors themselves, but can also cost the lives of those they rush to help.
