The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a comprehensive report on investigation of circumstances of death of an 11-year-old inmate of a Sakhalin orphanage

The Sakhalin Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia investigated a criminal case on the fact of death of 11-year-old inmate of the children's state institution "Kirovsky boarding school for mentally retarded children" on September 3. 2020. (Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Currently, the criminal case against the tutor has been submitted for approval of the indictment. Also, a criminal case on suspicion of negligence by the director of the boarding school was under investigation (Article 293 of the Criminal Code), it was terminated.

The mass media published a complaint of the father of the dead boy who did not agree with the course of the investigation and conclusions of the investigation.

Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Head of the Sakhalin Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia B.B. Bazarov to promptly provide a comprehensive justification for the procedural decisions taken.
