The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia over the Khabarovsk Territory and Jewish Autonomous Region continues investigation of a probe under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering of services failing to meet safety requirements). The regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia started to investigate a probe launched by police officers under Part 1 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia.

To remind, the accident occurred at night on the Khabarovsk-Lidoga-Vanino-Komsomolsk-On-Amur highway involving a passenger bus travelling to the city of Khabarovsk on 3 October 2021. At present two persons remain hospitalized and are provided with qualified medical assistance. The rest of the victims were discharged to continue treatment on an outpatient basis.

The director of the company-carrier was detained in terms of investigation of the probe. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being decided upon. The main version of the incident is non-observance of the work and rest regime at the enterprise - according to preliminary data, the bus driver was sent on a long trip without a replacement, was driving alone and fell asleep, which resulted in a loss of control over vehicle control and getting into an accident.

The investigation conducted an inspection of the scene of the incident, seized a video recorder and a tachograph, appointed expert studies, including an auto-technical examination, questioned witnesses of the incident, carried out other investigative and procedural actions. The investigation of the probe being supervised by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee, continues.
