The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia puts under supervision the progress of investigation of a probe into a school student suspected of murder of his classmate in the Republic of Dagestan

The Dagestan Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case against a 15-year-old local resident suspected of committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder). In addition, the investigation opened a criminal case against the school director and the deputy director for educational work on the grounds of a crime under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence), as well as in relation to the management of a private security company, which carried out the maintenance of order in the school on the grounds of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia(provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers).

According to the investigation, on October 11, 2021, in the premises of school No. 51 in the city of Makhachkala, a fight broke out between the suspect and his classmate, during which he stabbed the latter. The teenager died from the injury in the hospital.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan A.P. Shchurov to report on the progress of the initial investigative actions, give a strict legal assessment of the actions of officials from among the school management responsible for ensuring the security in the building, and also promptly establish the causes and conditions of the incident.

The investigation is supervised by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Psychologists are working at the scene, witnesses are being interrogated, the relevant investigative actions are in progress.
