The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to report on progress of investigation on the probes on violence against police officers in Saratov

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed A. Govorunov, Head of the Saratov Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to report on the progress of the investigation into the probe on violence against a police officer (Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code).

According to investigators, on 23 October 2021, young people crowded together in Saratov. Two traffic police crews were sent to the scene to identify all the circumstances. One of the young men present at the incident climbed onto the bonnet and then onto the roof of a traffic police car and jumped on one of the inspectors, while holding the officer by his uniform and attempting to strike him. The offender's acts of violence were stopped by police officers. 

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia put the progress of investigation of the probe under supervision of the Central Office.
