On December 22, 2021 the media reported a fire in one of the premises of the state kindergarten "Kindergarten No 113" in Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. It was reported that the fire engulfed the laundry room on the third floor of the building, while the media reported that no fire extinguishers installed throughout the institution were used, but the children were taken out in time, and there were no casualties.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the acting head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg A.D. Golombievsky to report on the situation.

The progress of the execution of the instruction is under supervision in the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
