In Sverdlovsk oblast, leaders of criminal group will face a court of law on a number of crimes

The Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has finalized the investigation of the criminal case against Mr. Gennady Vinogradov and his son, Mr. Roman Vinogradov. They are accused of committing crimes prescribed in Article 102 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 307 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Article 159.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (build a stable armed group (gang) and committing within the gang some serious and especially serious crimes against the person and property of citizens, possession of weapons and explosive devices, murders, theft and destruction of property).

According to the investigation, in 1992, Mr. Gennady Vinogradov built a steady armed group (gang), where between May 1994 and March 2021, together with his son and other members of the gang, he committed a number of crimes on the territory of Artyomovsky raion of Sverdlovsk oblast. Among them are the following crimes: in 1994, the murder of Mr. Korostelev I.V. and Mr. Vetlugin V.N., attempted murder of Mr. Goltsev A.V. and Mr. Sorokin S.I., in 2003, the murder of Mr. Buksin A.V., in 2017, the attempted murder of Mr. Sharafiev A.M., editor of the Yegorshinsky Vesti newspaper, as well as a number of other crimes.

The gang stopped its activities on May 12, 2021 due to the detention of its leader, Mr. Vinogradov, and his son on suspicion of committing the murder of Mr. Buksin A.V.

Investigation collected sufficient evidence to bring the charges for the commission of these crimes against both the Vinogradovs. The criminal case with the approved indictment was submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.
