Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee continue to document the consequences of shelling committed by Ukrainian servicemen in various raions of Donetsk

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation inspected Kirovsky, Petrovsky and Leninsky raions of Donetsk, which were shelled by Ukrainian nationalists.

According to the investigation, servicemen of the 68th separate jaeger brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired from artillery weapons with a caliber of 152 and 155 mm Kirovsky, Petrovsky and Leninsky raions of Donetsk, breaching the requirements of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Population during warfare dated 12.08.1949 and the Additional Protocol to it, which bans the use of weapons if it would cause excessive loss of life or injury to civilians. As a result of these deliberate actions, residential buildings were destroyed, two civilians, born 1971 and 1983, received shrapnel wounds of varying severity.

On the mentioned above fact, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a criminal investigation against servicemen of the 68th separate jaeger brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian population, use of banned means and methods of warfare).
