The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia finalized the criminal investigation against Mr. Ilya Yashin, a former Deputy of the Council of Deputies of Krasnoselsky Moscow municipal okrug. He is accused of committing a crime prescribed in paragraph "e" Part 2, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination of deliberately false information as reliable, containing data related to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, committed out of political hatred).
It was detected that in April 2022, during a live broadcast on his public channel on the YouTube video platform, Mr. Yashin was spreading deliberately false information about the killings of civilians committed by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Bucha city.
At the same time, Mr. Yashin was reliably aware that the photographs and video files published by the Kiev regime were a provocation. They transmitted the fake information, which allegedly indicated the illegal actions of the Russian military personnel in the city of Bucha, Kiev oblast.
The investigation collected sufficient evidence to initiate the criminal case with the indictment which was submitted to the court for the trial.
