The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Maslov A.K., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Krasnodar Krai, to report on the progress of the criminal investigation launched by the regional Investigative Directorate on the collapse of a balcony in an apartment building on Donskaya Street in the city of Sochi, as a result of which three people died (Part 3, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the investigation, on the evening of November 6, 2022, two men and a woman were in a rented apartment located on the top floor of a five-stored residential building. When citizens went out onto the balcony, it collapsed, as a result of which a 60-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman died on the spot from their injuries, a 46-year-old victim was taken to a medical facility in serious condition, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation continues to conduct a set of investigative actions and examinations aimed at detecting all the circumstances and causes of the incident. The investigation is a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee.
