The confirming evidence data was obtained as a result of well-planned investigative actions and joint operational-search activities of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
It was established that an 11-year-old boy disappeared in July 2005 in the village of Kazar, Zalegoshchensky raion, Oryol Oblast. During the verification information activities, a set of investigative and operational measures was carried out with Mr. Shayakhmedov, where he gave detailed testimony about the circumstances of the crime he had committed and indicated the location of the body. The remains, as well as items of clothing of the missing child, were discovered as a result of an inspection of the area with the involvement of volunteers. The defendant explained that 16 years ago, the child went with him to the forest for mushrooms, where a man committed a crime against his sexual integrity and strangled him.
It was also established that in April 2000 Mr. Shayakhmedov committed a sexual offense against a 6-year-old boy, after which he strangled him, and in September 2003 he killed a 32-year-old woman. It became known that the accused did not know the woman and the 6-year-old child before.
