According to the results of negotiations with the authorities of Malta and within the Interdepartmental Group on the transfer of the ship Arctic Sea to the authorized representatives of the vessel flag, a meeting to develop procedures for such transfer took place at the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.

For the quick decision on the transfer of the vessel to the Maltese side, the Investigative Committee of the General-Prosecutors Office of the Russian Federation has decided to withdraw the arrest imposed on the petition of the investigation on the ship Arctic Sea by Basmanny district court of Moscow.

Currently, the ship Arctic Sea is located in the open sea near the boundary of territorial waters of Malta.

The vessel is expected to be transferred to the Maltese side one of these days.
