In Kabardino-Balkaria criminal case initiated over murder of investigator of Investigative Committee

The body with gunshot wounds of a 31-year old Lieutenant of Justice Alim Vorokov was found on 1 June 2012, at about 1 p.m. in the back seat of his own car Lada-Kalina near one of the houses on Torchokov street in Nalchik. There are bullet holes taped with dark sellotape on the back of the car.

The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee in the republic of Kabardino-Balkaria initiated a criminal case over crimes under article 295 (encroachment on the life of a person administering justice or engaged in a preliminary investigation) and part 2 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal acquisition and store of firearms).

At present, investigation and search task force is working at the crime scene. Search and investigation operations are underway to establish all circumstances of the crime and identify the persons involved.

The investigators consider all possible versions of the murder, they do not rule out that the crime was connected with the investigator’s professional activity who mostly had investigated the cases over encroachment on lives of law-enforcement officials.

Leadership of the Investigative Committee took under control the investigation of murder of the investigator of the investigations department of the Russian Investigative Committee in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
