Progress of investigation of case over mass riots of Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow on 6 May

Within the framework of the criminal case over mass riots on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow on 6 May, the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has brought charges against Maksim Luzyanin, Andrey Barabanov, Alexandra Dukhanina and Mikhail Kosenko. They are charged of crimes under part 2 of article 212 and part 1 of article 318 of the RF Criminal Code (participation in mass riots and use of violence against representatives of the authority).

In addition, investigators today are bringing charges against four more suspects: Stepan Zimin, Denis Lutskevich, Richard Sobolev and Oleg Arkhipenkov. Investigators also handed summons to Maria Baronova, for her to appear in the Investigative Committee to bring her to charges in the near future.

Investigators have received a preliminary answer from tax bodies, in line with which an in-office tax audit was arranged and is in progress of an income declaration for 2011 submitted on 2 May by Ksenia Sobchak. The term of tax audit in accordance with the Tax Code of the Russian Federation amounts to 3 months from the day of declaration submission.
