In Saint-Petersburg former father superior charged with sexual abuse of two schoolgirls internationally wanted

Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has charged in absentia Gleb Grozovsky with signs of crimes under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 132 of the RF Penal Code (sexual abuse).

According to investigators, in June 2013, 34-year-old Gleb Grozovsky, the former father superior of the temple of Saint Martyr John the Warrior of Saint-Petersburg metropolitanate of Russian Orthodox Church and a counselor to CEO of ZAO FC Zenit (CJSC) committed sexual abuse of a 9-year-old and a 12-year-old girls in a hotel in the children’s camp of orthodox club of travelers “Philadelphia” on Kos island in the Greek Republic.

At present Grozovsky is internationally wanted and the court has ruled in absentia to remand him in custody. The investigating and search operations are underway to check the information that the accused has committed a number of similar crimes in Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region. The investigation is ongoing.
