Causes of cargo plane An-124 engine failure found out in Ulyanovsk

Investigators of Volga Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have set off for the incident scene at the airport in the city of Ulyanovsk in connection with the emergency landing of a cargo-plane An-124, which took off from Rostov.

According to preliminary information, on 7 November 2013, at 10:37 AM the An-124 of Polyot airlines made an emergency landing at the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airport due to a failure of one of its engines. Nobody of 30 crew members was hurt and the plane was not damaged.

At present a check is underway to find all the circumstances of the incident. The incident scene is being examined, the crew members and the staff of the airport are being questioned and a series of analyses will be appointed in the near future.
